LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

KIHIKIHI BRANCH MEETS The Kihikihi branch of the League of Mothers held its monthly meeting in the Kihikihi Town Hall supper room. Mrs G. McGhie presided over a good attendance. The meeting opened with the singing of the National Anthem. Mrs McGhie read the aims and objects of the League, the parents’ and children's prayers and the prayer for peace. Mrs >larquiss was appointed secretary until the end of the year in August. A letter was read from the district organiser, Mrs F. H. Barnett, of Ngahape. Arrangements were made in connection with the combined Tokanui and Kihikihi branches' birthday and fathers’ night to be held in the Kihikihi Town Hall on Friday evening, May 27. Miss I- Temple, who has been honorary secretary ami a foundation member for three years, and Mrs Temple, another foundation member, tendered their resignations. The competition for the afternoon was a question box, which caused much amusement. Mrs Wallace, a visitor from the Mt. Albert branch, was extended a warm welcome. After Mrs McGhie had pronounced the Benediction, the hostesses, Mesdames Cran, Eyre and Helwig served afternoon tea.
