WEEK-END ACCIDENTS
CYCLIST'S LEO TORN OFT DEATH ENSUES IN HOSPITAL (By Telegraph.—Pre«> Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Sunday A motor-cyclist, Mr Laurenos Joseph Kiesanowaki (26), received injuries from which he subsequently died. In an accident early last evening. Mr Klesanowski, with his brother David on the pillion, was riding a motor-oyole toward Christchurch. Near Burnham a motor-car travelling in the opposite direction struck the motor-cyclist’s right leg, which was torn off below the knee. The pillion rider escaped serious Injury. PEDESTRIAN STRUCK FATAL INJURIES RECEIVED (Special to Times) AUCKLAND, Monday Mr Ernest James Jones (44), of Grey Lynn, a returned soldier, suffered fatal Injuries when he was knocked down by a motor-oar driven by Mr Francis Michael Gaffaney, a commercial traveller, on Saturday night. MOTORwOAR OVERTURNS HAMILTON MEN INJURED AUCKLAND. Monday When a small sedan car came Into collision with another small car on the Great South Road, Papatoetoe, about 1 a.m. on Saturday, Mr Ronald C. Batten, of Hamilton, the driver of the former, and Mr F. J. Watson, of Hamilton, a passenger, were Injured. The- oar capsized and was extensively damaged. Mr Batten escaped with a severely eut hand and Mr Watson received Injuries to the back. The oocupants of the other oar were uninjured. FOOTBALL MISHAPS THREE PLAYERS INJURED Football aooldents resulted In three young men being admitted to the Waikato Hospital on Saturday. The patients, who are reported to be progressing satisfactorily, are: James Casey (15), of Dudley Terrace, Frankton, who suffered a broken arm: Thomas Orr (19), of Puketaha, Injury to back; John Dempsey (24), of Huia Avenue, Frankton, chest injury.
