We® Pat joined them at tne six furlongs post, losing ground at the start, and he was several lengths away at the finish. PGimint (P. Fearn) and Electric Spear R Learn) finished clear of Aymon (Gallagher) over live furlongs in 1.5 4-5. It was a useful effort. Master Appellant (Stokes). Bright Ida* vßuchanan) and Bronze Wing (Metcalf) alter running their first three furlongs In il 4-ss, were going easily at the end of six furlongs in 1.25 3-5. Bronze Wing ran on to the sand track at the turn. captain Bruce (F. Fearn) and Bonny Belle (Tremaln) put plenty of dash into a half-mile task, wnich they covered in s is., the first furlong taking 13 2-ss. There was little between them at the finish. High Star (McTavish) completed a round in 2.5 4-5, running his last seven furlongs In 1.40 4-5. He was not unduly bustled at any part of It. El Moynell (Green) reeled off five furlongs in 1.7 1-5, and he was going freely at the finish. Fleetwind Round In 49 2-5 •Myth (Gilchrist) cantered round to the half-mile post and ran home in 51 4-ss. Over a similar distance Fleetwind (Gilchrist recorded 49 2-ss, the first furlong taking 12 4-ss. This was the best of the morning over the distance. Clarion Call and Riotous were given strong work, separately traversing about a mile and a-quarter, but they were not doing better than 51s to the furlong. School Song (Gilchrist) was just In Trout of disturbed (Gallagher) after running the last six furlongs of the work in i. 19 4-5. Both handled the going well. Tybalt (Gilchrist) after taking 3 9 3-5 s Tor his first three furlongs, completed seven in 1.31 1-5. He ran the last six in 1.18 and was going on soundly at the end. Waitaka (Tremaln) was going particularly well at the conclusion of his seven furlongs, which occupied 1.22 4-5. Yalmint (Murray) after commencing slowly, strode over a round in 2.4 1-5. He ran the last seven furlongs In 1.3 9 and the Ilnal six in 1.2 4 1-5. Mai de Mer (Tucker) impressed more than Summary (Watson) throughout seven lurlongs in 1.37 1-5, the last three taking 41 1 - ss. A Smart Half-mile Crooning (Tremain) and Primal (Walker) were responsible for a smart half-mile, which they completed In sos. There was very little between them at the end. Piracy (Murray) reeled off three furlongs In 41s and Shy (Nicholson) was allotted strong work on the course proper. Porotltl (Smith) and Hlrangl (Watson) gave a very satisfactory display over four hurdles.

Tahae Mea (Gough) went with them but finished a number of lengths away. Hirangl was afterwards sent over the big fences on the flat, shaping well. King Musk (Gough) started off for a school over the hurdles on the course proper, but blundered and came to grief at the first. He was not persevered with and was showing signs of lameness subsequently.

An Interesting SchooT An Interesting school- over a round of the steeplechase course completed the morning’s work. Those who participated were Jolly Beggar (Ridgway), Killadar (Watson), My Money (Stokes), Royal Mimic (R. Smith), Windsor Lass (Muir), Piripi (Feasey), Topstar (Craddock), and Ground Swell (Clarke). They commenced at the stone wall where Ground Swell ran off, the others continuing on. As they went along the back and up the hill Royal Mimic was well clear, with Killadar and My Money next and Jolly Beggar, who was being ridden quietly, near the rear. When thev reached the foot of the hill Royal Mimic, Windsor Lass and Piripi were pulled on to the sand track, and Jolly Beggar led over the last four fences with Killadar and My Money following at Intervals of several lengths. Ground Swell, when re-mounted, baulked at the first fence of the double and lost his rider, and Topstar, who was just behind Jolly Beggar when they cleared the sod wall the second time, stumbled and fell before reaching the first fence or the double, breaking a leg and he had to be destroyed. ___
