CRIME PUNISHED
SENTENCES IN WELLINGTON YOUNG GANGSTERS’ OFFENCES WELLINGTON, Friday
The following prisoners were sentenced to-day by Mr Justice Quilliam: Leonard Royce Ford (25c labourer; Lyall Reginald Thornton 20 ', motordriver: William Clifford Symons (22), labourer, for breaking and entering the golf-house at Masterton, three years' probation and ordered to take out prohibition orders. Mervyn Milton Monaghan (18), labourer, received two years’ Borstal; Frank Paul Gestro (19 ■. labourer, two years' Borstal: and Douglas Alexander Biddis 17) a messenger, and Stewart McKenzie Gestro (17 , a labourer, were both placed under the control of the Child Welfare Department, all for breaking, entering and theft. George Walker Roche 36), salesman. for breaking and entering with Intent to commit a crime, attempted false pretences, breaking and entering and theft (two charges), false pretences (two charges) and attempted theft, three years’ hard labour; Trevor Jim Garner (22), tailor’s cutter, for false pretences, two years’ probation.
