PROGRESS IN DOMINION PASSENGER TRAFFIC FIGURES (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Saturday. Figures issued by the Controller of Civil Aviation, Group-Captain T. M. Wilkes, for the quarter ended March 31 and the twelve months to that date show that there has been a phenomenal increase in all forms of civil flyin* In New Zealand both by the regular service lines and by the aero clubs. Rongotai is by a wide margin the busiest ’drome as regards passenger traffic. During the year 1,500,000 miles were flown by company passenger planes and 1, *00.000 miles by club machines. Passengers totalled 59.859 of whom 8303 were aero club passengers. The total flying hours were 32.319. of which 19.290 wero flown by club machines. Mails totalled 210.238 lbs or nearly too tons and freight 91,703 lbs or oveY 40 tons. In aero club activities Auckland Is far In the lead with Canterbury next and then Marlborough.
