LOCAL OBSERVATIONS The following local observations on the weather are supplied by Miss Budd, of Messrs Balfour. Irvine and Webster, Limited, Hamilton: Barometer Friday 30.00 Saturday 30.05 Thermometer Max. Min. Thursday 64 54 Friday 64 50 Mean Temperature, 57 deg. The barometer reads 30.05 and has a rising tendency. Fair to overcast weather is indicated to-day and to-mor-row, with lower temperature, occasional showers and northwesterly winds prevailing. The Rainfall • Rainfall for 24 hours ended 9 o’clock this morning, .07in. Rainfall for previous 24 hours, .05in. Rainfall for May to date, 3.42in. Average rainfall for May, 4.631 n. Rainfall for year to date, 20.2 lin. Average yearly rainfall, 46.32in. SPECIAL FORECAST (Ry Govt. Meteorologist). The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist covering the WalkatoTh&mea Valley Is as follows; Forecast: Light to moderate westerly winds veering to northerly and freshening somewhat. A few isolated showers at first and later becoming more widespread but weather mainly fair. Temperatures moderate. Sea slight. General Inference: The anti-cyclone yesterday over the Tasman Sea is now centred over the northern part of the North Island but has decreased in Intensity. A moderate westerly depression is approaching across the South Tasman Sea.
