South America.—Carcases mutton, 53,105; carcases lamb, 199.280; quarters beef (frozen). 1835; quarters beef (chilled;, 227,080. Included in the South American figures are 126,916 carcases of lamb and 51,080 carcases of mutton shipped from Patagonia. South Africa (including Southern Rhodesia).—Quarters beef (chilled), 2654. New Zealand.—Carcases mutton, 91.574; carcases lamb. 498.911; quarters beef (frozen . 3519; quarters beef (chilled). 2733. ROTOTUNA CLEARANCE Messrs G. W. Vercoe and Co.. Ltd., report having held a clearing sale on account of Mr P. Mathieson at Rototuna. There was an exceptionally large attendance, and the herd, which was submitted in first-class condition, met with a keen inquiry and a satisfactory clearance resulted. A large quantity of farm sundries and implements sold on a par with rates which had been ruling at other sales. The herd averaged £8 14s, while the 50 heifers sold at an average of £9. Ross, of Pukeroro, on Wednesday. as follow^*: —The herd was only a small one and changed hands at satisfactory prices, while a large quantity or rarm sundries and implements sold at late rates.
