Quiet Corners
SERMONETTES For some years the Rev. C. W. Chaydler. of Cambridge, lias contributed to various papers what he teifcns "religio-philosophical sermonettes,” and the second volume of them has just been published. In his foreword the author says: “Because one believes that thoughts are the very links in the chain of friendship, through which we reveal our inmost selves to others, this very humble volume goes forth with a hope and a prayer that not all of the seed will full by the wayside, but that a few grains will be garnered up In the treasure-houses of my friends.” . The little articles, in a form favoured' by some French writers, contain much to provoke thought. Some are crosscuts of life, and all have an appeal. They are written in such a friendly, understanding manner that It will be strange if they do not And a welcome place in the houses of both friends and strangers.
