CRISK COMPETITION
DKM AM) FUR CAT !I K MORE SHEEP FORWARD VALUES AT MORRINSVILLE The Fanners’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report as follows on their weekly Morrinsville stock sale held yesterday:— A better yarding of fat sheep came forward with competition keen and late prices maintained. The advertised entry of store wethers from the W'airoa district came forward in good order, hilt although they attracted a full bench of buyers, competition was restricted and with the exception of the very forward conditioned sheep, prices failed to reach vendors’ re-
serves. However, most of the yarding was disposed «• f by way of private sale. The breeding ewes also attracted keen competition, but here again prices were not as high as anticipated and passings were frequent
For a heavy yarding of all classes of fat and boner cows the demand throughout was keen with brisk competition. laic quotations being fully maintained. Again for a large entry
of station-bred cattle a keen enquiry existed, especially for all male cattle. Competition was good and practically the whole yarding changed hands at satisfactory prices. The female section comprised mostly of two- and thnee-year empty heifers, and although values in this section were not as keen as for males, a total clearance was effected. A good yarding of dairy cattle included the advertised herd on account of Mr C. Whitton, of Morrinsville. Competition was good and satisfactory prices were realised.
There was a medium entry of fat pigs, and a full yarding of stores and weaners. In Ihe fat section the entry comprised mostly porkers and unfinished pigs. No prime top-weight baconers were penned. Competition was keen, prices remaining firm at values equal to recent quotations. Stores and weaners were most keenly sought, values being in advance of late rates. Quotations: —
