CYCLIST’S DEATH
COLLISION WITH A CAR WELL-KNOWN SOUTHLAND MAN {By TeieprapTi.—Prp«« Association) INVERCARGILL, Friday Injuries which subsequently proved fatal were sustained last evening by Mr Percy Jago Isrcal (55). When riding a bicycle he’ collided with a motor-car driven by Mr J. A. Walker, of Bluff. The car had just turned into Forth Street from Kith Street. Mr Isreal struck the radiator and suffered a fracture of the skull ar.d severe abrasions. lie was removed to the hospital, where he died at 11 o’clock. Mr Isreal Is well-known In Southland as chief clerk in Invercarg’ll in the office of Messrs Dalgetv and Company, by whom he had been employed for 35 years, about 25 of them being spent in Invercargill. He also was widely known as a bowler, being a former president of the Southland Bowling Club, and he played for Southland. One time he held the champion of champion singles title. He leaves a widow and one son, Mr George Isreal, lecturer at the University of Tasmania, Hobart.
