PROFIT ON LAST MEETING PAINTING OF STANDS IMPROVEMENTS TO PROPERTY At a meeting of the committee of the Waikato Trotting Club at which the president, Mr R. T. Reid, presided, ftyere were present Messrs W. T. C. Christie. C. V. Carlev, ij. Jew, I McL. T. Clephane and W. Perrin. Accounts totalling £l>* * in connection with the club's recent meeting were passed, the fl .ncial statement showing a net prc 3t of approximately £207 on the Cj lure. It was intimated by the secretary. Mr W. H. Allen, that Mr F. J. Farrell, of Hamilton, had donated a trophy for the club's next meeting and Mr Perrin Undertook to donate a gold-mounted whip for the same event. Appreciation of the action of the donors was Tolced by the meeting. • Application for Dates It was decided to make application to the Trotting Association for four permits next season, September 4. October 15, December 3 and May 13. A circular letter was received from the Trotting Conference that the annual conference would be held In Wellington on July G. Attention was also drawn to the fact that all members of the Trotting Board would be retiring this season and nominations were Invited to fill the vacancies. It was unanimously decided to nominate the president, Mr R. T- Reid, and letters were read from the Cambridge and Thames clubs supporting this nomination. The secretary was Instructed to notify all North Island clubs that the nomination of Mr Reid was going forward and requesting clubs to support ft. The question of increasing loose-box Accommodation at Claudelands was discussed and it was decided, especially In view of the Royal Show this year, to expedite the construction of Additional boxes. The grounds committee was authorised to meet the Olub’s architect and representatives Of the Agricultural and Pastoral Association on the grounds. It was decided to call tenders for fee painting of the club's buildings and to areot a number board In the outbids enclosure. The purchase of a sulky for the tee of the club In emergency cases Wraa left In the hands of Messrs Jew And Perrin. Guarantors Released On the motion of Mr Reid ft was decided to advise the bank to release the club’s guarantors and the secretary was Instructed to write Messrs H. W. Burch and J. Fraser Smith expressing the club’s sincere appreciation of the valued assistance they had rendered the club over a pe r od cf years. It was decided to make a donation

of £5 5s to the fund being raised by the conference as a testimonial to the work o:' Mr H. \V. Kitchenham [South Island,, in the interests of the sport.
