Work* Committee Report The Mayor reported on a tour or the Borough by the works committee on Wednesday. Mr Moore, chairman of tne committee, detailed the most urgent work requiring attention. Fainting and general repairs were neepeo at the abattoirs. Tbe bridge approaches nan been inspected and conatderabie cleaning up or tne rootpatns was recommended. Tne re-pamting or the bridge was a matter ror consideration in the near future. At tne cemetery it was found that tne sneiter-ened needed painting and the spouting repaired, it nad been considered tnat a man should be permanently employed at the cemetery, to keep the paths in order. The necessity ror improving the drainage and rootpaths in Wilson street was evident. It was recommended that Richmond Street he properly formed. Reformation or the rootpatn was nece*3arv m Bowen Street wnere tne state houses were being erected. The need ror inspecting the street lighting system by mgnt was pointed out by Mr Moore.
