Fair to overeast weather is indicated today and to-morrow, with lower temperature. heavy showers and northerly winds prevailing. The Rainfall Rainfall for 24 hours ended 9 o'clock this mominz. .o£in. Rainfall for previous 24 hours, .08tn. Rainfall for May to date, 3.351 n. Average rainfall for May, 4 63in. Rainfall for year to date, 20.14in. Average yearly rainfall, 46.321 n. SPECIAL FORECAST (By Govt. Meteorologist). The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist covering the WaikatoThames Valley is as follows: Forecast: Moderate to fresh southerly to southwesterly winds, decreasing to-morrow. A few passing showers at first but weather Improving. Mild day but cold night temperature's, with some frosts inland. Sea moderate. General Inference: The last of the recent series of shallow westerly depressions passed eastward last night. An antl-ryrione still covers the Tasman Sea. but has decreased in ln*ensity. In the meantime pressure has been falling rapidly over southeastern Australia.
