The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist covering the WaikatoThames Valley is as follows: Forecast: Moderate to fresh southerly to southwesterly winds, decreasing to-morrow. A few passing showers at first but weather Improving. Mild day but cold night temperature's, with some frosts inland. Sea moderate. General Inference: The last of the recent series of shallow westerly depressions passed eastward last night. An antl-ryrione still covers the Tasman Sea. but has decreased in ln*ensity. In the meantime pressure has been falling rapidly over southeastern Australia.
