BILL PASSED IN AMERICA PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT’S VICTORY ALL INDUSTRIES AFFECTED United Press As?n.—P'ec. el. Copyright WASHINGTON, May 25 President Roosevelt scored a victory when Hie House of Representatives passed the revised Wage*, and Hours Bill by 314 votes to 97, in spite of determined opposition by the Southern group, and after the failure of tlie latter to write in geographical wage differentials. The Bill now goes 1o Die Senate, which previously passed a widelydiffering measure. The Bill provides for a minimum wage beginning at 25 cents ts 3d. New Zealand currency; an hour in the first year, increasing by live cents an hour each year until 40 cents (equal to 2s. New Zealand currency an hour is reached- The maximum weekly hours arc to be 44 in the first year and 4 0 after that. The legislation would affect virtually all industries operating in Inter-State commerce.
