THE AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP PLAY IN THE THIRD ROUND HATTERSLEY’S CRASHING SUCCESS (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received May 26, 11 a.m.) LONDON, May 25 In the third round of the amateur golf championship, Ilattersley defeated Gordon Peters, 4 and 2. Ilattersley scored a crashing success, defeating the British Walker Cup player. Peters is one of the' most powerful West of Scotland players, and was strongly fancied for the championship. The match was square at the turn, then Ilattersley with a devasting run of 3,3, 4,4, 2,4, 4* took the match. J. N. Reynard de’feated McKay, one up; Ryan defeated J. C. Wilson (Scottish International), 2 and J. Yates, the American Walker Cup player, defeated Pennink (English champion) 3 and 2; I.lcclor Thomson defeated Grant Goran, one up: Goodman defeated Briscoe. 0 and 5; Hie Cambridge blue. Jocelyn Walker, defeated the American Walker Cup player Reynolds Smith, two up.
