CARD EVENING An enjoyable card evening was held in the hall recently. Flag five hundred was enjoyed, .Mesdames L. Harris and A. Johns and Mr C. Cresswell being the successful players. Mr J. Teehan was the winner of a competition. Those present were :—Mesdames C. Cresswell, L. Harris, R. Townsend, A. Johns, C. Saward, A. Manson, R. Stokes, C. Masters, B. Larsen, A. Powdrill. Misses A. Manson, N. Johns, G. Inglis, U. Townsend, J. Hinton, M. Murphy, N. Harris, G. Townsend HUNT MEET Ideal weather conditions prevailed for the local meet of the Waikato hounds recently. The master, Mr Wynn Brown was not present on account of illness and the hounds were in the capable hands of Mr Ned Brown, who was assisted by Mr J. Ryall. Mesdames R. Townsend. P. Clarkin and A. Johns provided a light lunch at the hall at mid-day and later entertained the large following to afternoon tea. The lady riders were:—Mesdames J. Ryall (Te Kuiti), Johnson and W. Ranstead, Misses I. Meeking, Kit Ranstead, Eva Clarkin and Cherry Gaddes. Others present were: Mesdames Trubshaw, H. Saward, N. Patterson (Sydney), il. Douglas, Hawkesby (Auckland), Swayne, D. Gorrie, Woods, Priest, T. P. Coles, .T. Gaddes, J. Allen, R. J* Mulcahy. Misses K. Trubshaw, H. Douglas, Boddington (Masterton), B. Swayne, P. Gorrie, G. Townsend, H. Saleman, N. Johns, U. Townsend, A. Manson, B. Flinger and P. Wilson (Te Aroha), and N. Harris.
