SHAREMILKER EMPLOYEES WORK WITH THE UNION A representative gathering of between fifty and sixty sharemilker employers at Stratford yesterday set up a committee to confer with the Farmers’ Union, which is to be asked to give full representation to the oommittee in any future negotiations respecting sharemilking agreements. Interested men in the Waikato and other dairying districts supported the move in letters. The meeting was addressed by Mr W. W. Mulholland, Dominion president of the Farmers’ Union, Mr W. J. Poison, M.P., ex-Dominion president, and Mr H. E. Blyde, president of the North Taranaki executive of the union. Mr G. W. Williams, Ohangai, presided.
The meeting transacted its business in committee, It being subsequently indicated that a committee of twelve with Mr Williams as chairman, had been set up. The committee will act in conjunction with the Farmers’ Union on all matters concerning sharemilkers, and it will be consulted in any such negotiations the union may undertake.
