PROVING EFFECTIVE
PRISON FOR MOTORISTS INTOXICATION CHARGE (By Telegrapn.—Press Association) AUCKLAND, Tuesday “I am inclined to think that since I have been imposing terms of imprisonment the number of these offences has decreased,” said Mr C. R. Orr Walker, S.M., in the Police Court to-day in sentencing Edward Thomas Tate (5-i), traveller, to three weeks' imprisonment for intoxication while in charge of a car. His license was cancelled for two years. COLLISION WITH PEDESTRIAN (By Telegrapn.—Press Association) GISBORNE, Tuesday Admitting a charge of being intoxicated while in charge of a car last Wednesday evening, Reginald Honan (29), single, was fined £ls by Mr E. L. Walton, S.M., to-day and his license cancelled for a year. Accused collided with a pedestrian, Miss Grace Pickett, did not stop immediately.
