"DID GOOD BUSINESS" FINE OF £75 IMPOSED (By Telegraph. —Tress Association) GISBORNE, Tuesday. Following a raid on Saturday, Frederick Lawrence Kenny (59), was fined £75 by Mr E. L. Walton, S.M. this morning on a charge of keeping a common gaming house. Detective G. A. McWhirter stated that accused did an extremely good i business, 87 doubles and 74 straight- ! out bets having been taken on the day j of the raid. Kenny had been before the court on four previous occasions, the last time being fined £75. Two men found on tho premises were flne'd ft each and costs.
