POLITICAL REFUGEES
ADMISSION TO THE EMPIRE CONFERENCE TO BE HELD (Official Wireless) (Received May 24, 1.30 p.m.) RUGBY. May 27 In the House of Commons Miss Rathbone asked Mr Chamberlain to consider the convening of a conference of representatives of the Dominions for the purpose of formulating an Imperial policy regarding political refugees. Mr Chamberlain replied that the admission of refugees Is a matter for each of His Majesty's Governments to decide In the light of local conditions. The opportunity of discussing aspects of the matter would be afforded at the Inter-Government meeting in July, to which he understood that the Governments of the Dominions would be invited.
