The Farmers’ Co-opeative Auctioneering Company, Limited, draw attention to their Otorohanga stock sale to be held to-morrow, when they will offer 100 head of cattle and a small number of -store and weaner pigs. At a clearing sale to he held at Te Mawliai on account of Mr W. 11. Short, his whole herd of 120 Jersey and Jersey cross dairy cows and heifer* will he submitted, at another clearing sale and on behalf of Mr T. Hitchman, of Waitoa. his herd of 56 Shorthorn and Shorthorn cross dairy cows, together with th*> usual sundries and a quantity of household furniture will be tubmlttecL
Value of Nutrition.—“ The importance of diet and nutrition is proved when such countries as Austria, Italy, Britain and France agree on the essentials for healthy living,” stated Professor Ann Strong. Dean of the Home Science Faculty at Otago University, interviewed in Auckland yesterday. “ Compared with the optimum diet recommended by the League of Nations, that of New Zealand is definitely inadequate. In the Dominion 63 per cent of tlie people suffer from dental caries, while 26 per cent live below normal nutrition. The importance of diet and nutrition in tin* prevention of disease is an accepted fact to-day.”
