Stedman (Auckland) 1 up. In the semi-finals Stedman beat S. Clark, 3 and 2, ana Glanvllle beat G. W. Foote, 2 and i. CAMBRIDGE LINKS COURSE RECORD BROKEN MATCH AND BOGEY PLAY (Special to Time*.) CAMBRIDGE, Sunday. The third round of the Cambridge Handicap (match play), and a bogey competition In conjunction were played on the Cambridge links on Saturday. A feature or the play was the breaking of the amateur course record by H. N. Freeman. OfT a handicap or 6 he completed the course in 69 (par 71). Thl» score enabled blin to win the bogey competition with 6 up end dereat S. Dunbar In the Cambridge Handicap, 6 up and 5 to play. AlTord. or the remaining games In the Cambridge Handicap tbe most noteworthy was the excellent performance of the promising Junior, A. Clayton, who defeated Barnett at the 19th. An even contest was provided by V. Hollis (9; and M. Woolley (8), the former prevailing 5? and l. D. McCathle (6) continued to show good form to dereat R. Feisst comfortably by 5 up and 4 to play. McCathies long game and wonderful ability to recover lrout trouble with raking Irons t<> the green, makes him a difficult player to dereat and so far he has not been extended. F. Kingsford Is playing his best golf at present. His victory over M. I.useombe during lhe week with an 89 off the 20 mark was followed on Saturday with a victory over F. Entwisle til-, a up a id 2 to play. This player will worry the low -markers if he continue* to produ. e his golf of the last week. N. Jonasson (15; carried too many guns for A. Robertson (24) and won 3 and t. Jonasson's golf is on the tmprtoe through assiduous practice. In this respect he Is a good example to many goners. He takes his game seriously and Bill be reducing before long through sheer application.
