FROZEN OR CHILLED PRICES FOR LAMB EASIER LATEST SMITJIFIELD QUOTATIONS (Special to Times) WELLINGTON, Monday. Recent higher prices on the Smithfield market for lamb have been slightly checked, according to tlie weekly report of the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board. Both the demand and Hie price are a shade easier. In the mutton market wethers are unchanged, but trade is slow. Ewes are dull, with lower prices for heavyweights. Chilled beef prices are firmer this week, owing to reasonsable supplies and a good demand. There is no frozen beef available. Values for New Zealand porker, pigs are lower, following the usual seasonal contraction of demand. New Zealand baconer pigs are a shade easier, owing to a slightly weaker market for bacon.
