AFTER 12 NOES TO MARRY RADIO CONDUCTOR (From a Correspondent.) NEW YORK, April 14 Lily Pons, 31-years-old opera soprano, said in her cabin in the Queen Mary to-day that she intends to marry Andre Kostelanctz, American radio conductor, who lias proposed to her 13 times. “We have been engaged for two years,” she said, "but really we are not certain when we shall be married —perhaps it will be when I get back to New York. “I am not married now, as some people say. i had a very happy talk with Andre b\< ship-to-shore 'telephone this morning. He is to ring me every day while I am away. “For two years lie won the silver loving cup given by American airlines to tiie most travelled passenger each year. A Record fop Devotion “Andre travelled by air 126,000 miles in 1936, and 136,200 in 1937, to xisit me when I was in Hollywood. “That surely is a record for devotion.” Kostelanetz says he got to know the country so well from the air that he never needed a watch to tell the time. He just looked at the country over which he was passing on his way to Hollywood- “ Lily Pons, music, and flying,” he describes as his three interests in life. Lily Pons has been seen in several films in New Zealand.
