NON-INTERVENTION PLAN GOOD PROGRESS MADE WITHDRAWAL OF VOLUNTEERS (Official Wireless) (Received May 20, 11 am.) RUGBY, May 19 Lord Plymouth, chairman of the Non-intervention Committee, has made such progress with the consultations in connection with the withdrawal of volunteers from Spain and the restoration of control that he hope* to be in a position to call a meeting of the chairman’s sub-committee before the end of next week. May 18 The French Foreign Office denies the allegation that Russian agd Czech war material is going to Spain, via France, or that the French General Staff assisted the Republicans to prepare their defences. It is also denied that Signor Mussolini demanded that France should recognise a Nationalist victory.
