LOCAL OBSERVATION The following local observations on the weather are supplied by Miss Budd, of Messrs Balfour, Irvine and Webster, Limited, Hamiton: Barometer Thursday 29 95 Friday 29.85 Thermometer Max. Min. Wednesday 65 52 Thursday 67 52 Mean Temperature, 59.5 deg. The barometer is steady at 29.85. Generally fair weather is Indicated to-day and to-morrow, with mild temperatures, later becoming colder and westerly winds prevailing. The Reinfell Rainfall for 24 hours ended 9 o’clock this morning, .62:n. Rainfall for previous 2i hours, .171 n. Rainfall for May to date, 3.13i0. Average rainfall for May, 4.63in. Rainfall for year to date, 19.9210. Average yearly rainfall. 46.32 m. SPECIAL FORECAST (By Govt. Meteorologist). The special forecast by tho Government Meteorologist covering the WaikatoThame* Valley 1* as followa; Forecast: Strong southerly winds gradually moderating. Weather cold and changeable with passing showers but improving. Seas rough but decreasing. General inference: Pressure is low and conditions are disturbed to the eastward but an anti-cyclone is advancing across the Tasman Sea and barometers are rising over New Zealand.
