OBITUARY
MR M. STUBBING FIFTY YEARS IN CAMBRIDGE (Special to Times) CAMBRIDGE, Thursday The death occurred at his residence, Bryce Street, this inorninc, of Mr Malcolm Stubbing, aged years. He had lived for 81 years in New Zealand and for 51 years in the Cambridge district. Deceased was born in Ilford, Essex, In 1850. Seven years later he came with his parents to New Zealand in the •hip John Scott. The family settled at Raglan and in those days it took six weeks by schooner to travel round the North Cape and down the coast to Raglan. In 1863 the family were ordered back to Onehunga on account of the Maori War. Mr Stubbing was prospecting in the Thanes gold rush of 1868. Later he took up surveying and had been engaged in this profession ever since. In 1877 Mr Stubbing came to Cambridge and In that year he married Miss Mann, a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs George Mann. He retired from surveying a few* years ago. Deceased is survived by his wife and seven children. They are: Mesdarncs It. Calloway (Paeroa), I*. J. Handle Cambridge . James Major Cambridge and Miss Kvi Stubbing Cambridge . Messrs Malcolm Stubbing Matamata . Arthur Stubbing f Cambridge, and Claude Stubbing '(Auckland).
