COMMITTEES ELECTED

HAMILTON BOROUGH COUNCIL MR F* FINDLAY DEPUTY-MAYOR The various committees to facilitate the work of the Hamilton Borough Council were elected at the inaugural meeting of the recently elected council last evening when the Mayor, Mr H. D. Caro presided. Mr F. Findlay, who topped the poll for the election of councillors, was appointed deputymayor.

The committees elected were as follows:

Works Committee: Messrs H. M. Hammond (chairman), J. E. Tidd, WW. Dillicar, C. Lafferty, F. Findlay, C. Croall.

Rating Committee: Messrs R. McCaw (chairman), J. R. Fow, W. M. Cann.

Transport Committee: Messrs F. Findlay (chairman), R. McCaw, H. M. Hammond, W. R. Shattock, ۥ Croall, J. R. Fow. Trading and Finance Committee: Messrs C. Lafferty (chairman), T. G. Reynolds, W. R. Shattock, W. M. Cann, J. R. Fow, J. E. Tidd. Garden Place Committee: Messrs 11. M. Hammond (chairman), R. McCaw, J. E. Tidd, T. G. Reynolds, W. W. Dillicar.

General Purposes Committee: Mayor and all councillors. Hamilton Library Committee: Messrs S. B. Sims chairman), G. K. Sinclair, B. C. Lowry, W. A. Curteis and E. HBonham (secretary). Frankton Library Committee: Messrs A. G. Sandford chairman), J. E. Jebson and D. D. Wilson. The Mayor stated that the next meeting would be held on Wednesday June 1, and then closed the meeting.
