The best price for j wethers was more than 2s in advance j "f that for last week. Keen competition advanced the j price of ox beef up to £l6 a head. ! Extra choice beef remained at 3'Js per I 1001 b, and prices for other grades showed little change. Most of the sheep entered were -uaranteed free from stock eczema. Prime wethers sold to 36s 9d, an advance of 2s 3d on last week’s highest • imdation. Ewes sold freely at late rates. Prime lambs made to 31s a head, in comparison with 26s last week. The demand by graziers for wellbred steer and heifer calves kept values at a satisfactory average level. Runners s«di| to 130 s. a decrease of 23s from last week, and vealers made to 106 s. In comparison with Ills at the ; Haconers were quoted up to 91s a#d porkers to 66s a head.
