ROTORUA LADIES’ CLUB MANY WAIKATO COMPETITORS THE QUALIFYING ROUNDS (Special to Times.) ROTORUA. Tuesday A full entry of 92 players contested the qualifying rounds of the Rotorua Ladies' Golf Club's open championship at Arikikapakapa to-day. Scoring was disappointing. Miss .T. Duncan, of Wanganui, the holder who plays on a handicap ot five, took 87 gross in the morning and one more in the afternoon, and was the ninth to qualify. The best allround display nf t!ie day was that of Miss P. Bell, the 18-year-old Seafield (Wanganui) player, who returned a gross score of 82 in the morning and 79 in the afternoon, to lead the qualifiers with a gross. 161. Mrs E. Barker i Rotorua; and Mrs P. R. Glanvillc (Te Avvamutq were next in order with IG7, while Miss M. Illston (Manaia) and Miss A. Ormond (Napier) both played steady, but not brilliant, golf to be fourth and fifth with a gross IG9. Scores, with those who qualified for the two main events, were: — Championship Event Mies P.
