THE LABOUR PARTY

A TWO VICTORIES IN AMERICA SUPREME COURT DECISIONS STRIKES AND PICKETING (Cnltad Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received May 17. 12.20 p.m.) WASHINGTON. May 10 Organised Labour won two important victories when the Supreme Court unanimously upheld the National Labour Relations Board's power to order the reinstatement of employees who had been dismissed due to union activities, and confirmed that the strikers had a right to picket. The court denied that when an employee strikes his contractual relationship with his employer ends, and thus after settlement of a strike reinstatement is not compulsory. The Court in the picketing case vacated the injunction enjoining garment workers from picketing a dressmaking plant.
