JUDGE’S APPRECIATION
LAWYERS’ CO-OPERATION DISPATCH OF COURT BUSINESS Appreciation of the ‘‘cordial cooperation” of the Hamilton legal profession in arranging to have the work of the current session of the Supreme Court carried through expeditiously, was expressed in the court yesterday afternoon by the Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers. “When I came up here,” said His Honour, “ the Registrar's anticipation was a four weeks* sitting. When I arrived, however, I explained to the profession the difficult position in Wellington—since relieved by the appointment of a temporary judge, and I shall now finish this sitting on Thursday, or less than three weeks in all.” There had at no time been undue pressure of business and complete harmony had been maintained. Replying on behalf of the profession, Mr H. J. McMullin, president of the Hamilton District Law Society, said that His Honour's remarks were much appreciated by the members in Hamilton. There had always been the most cordial relations and the fullest co-operation between Bench and Bar.
