SPLENDID ACCEPTANCES
ELEVEN IN BIQ STEEPLES HURDLE RACE DRAWS FOURTEEN Splendid acceptances have been received for the first day, Saturday, of the Waikato Racing Club's winter meeting at Te Rapa, the proportion of acceptances to nominations being exceptionally gratifying and Indicative of the importance that the Waikato winter meeting has achieved among the Dominion’s leading jumping fixtures. The Dominion's best steeplechase and hurdle horses have come forward, there being li in the Te Rapa Steeplechase and 14 in the Waikato Hurdles. So large has been the response In the Otorohanga Hack, 31 acceptors, that It will be necessary to divide the race, the first division being the second race on the programme and the second, the sixth race. They will be treated as separate races with the totalisator opened on each. The mile and a-quarter fiat event has 11 acceptors and the sprint, the fine field of 23 runners, which will constitute one of the largest fields of its kind seen at headquarters for some time.
