BULLIVAN REJECTB OFFER FAILURE OF LEAGUE EFFORTS (Special to Times) NEW PLYMOUTH, Sunday The Taranaki and All Black Rugby threequarter J. L. Sullivan has rejected another and more attractive offer from the Rugby League authorities/ to play League. The League authorities desired Sullivan to play in a trial match at Auckland next Saturday with a view to his selection in the League team to tour Australia. A motor-car was to be made available to take him to Auckland and return him to New Plymouth. The terms of the offer are reported to have been particularly attractive, including a cash payment of £l5O, a permanent position and payment for every match played. Sullivan’* attachment to the Rugby code and hia success in that game, however, persuaded him to decline the offer. Several other offers had previously been received and rejected by Sullivan, including tempting terms from England.
