PRALIY DEFEATS BAFFERT (By Telerrapn.— WHANG AREI, Sunday Witnessed by a packed house, the most spectacular wrestling bout seen In Whangarel was staged last night, when Cowboy Fraley, 16st 41b, gained a decision over A 1 Baffert, 15st. The first and only fall came half-way through the sixth round, when Baffert, after butting Fraley in the abdomen, drop-kicked twice and then bounced off the ropes in a succession of flying tackles. At the third tackle Fraley slightly turned and clamped on his flying toehold, getting a submission fall. Baffert was unable to rise for the seventh round, and the referee, Mr J. McLean, declared Fraley the winner.
MEEHAN’B POPULAR WIN (By Telegraph.-r-Press Association) DUNEDIN, Sunday Pat Meehan. 16st 31b, and Jack Kennedy, "16st 41b, entertained a large crowd at the Town Hall last night in a wrestling contest which went the full distance. Kennedy proved himself the better straight wrestler and once he had a hold applied he held It well, but some of his tactics did not find favour with the crowd. Meehan took the only fall of the contest with a body press in the sixth round, and, when he staved off his opponent over the two remaining rounds, his victory was popularly acclaimed. JENBEN AND MOEN DRAW (By Telegraph.—Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, Sunday In a wrestling match last night Jeo Jensen and Andy Moen drew, neither man gaining a fall, in one of the best exhibitions seen at New Plymouth.
