ORPHANS’ CLUB
MEETING AT MORRINBVILLE (Special to Times) „ MORRINSVILLE, Friday. Great enthusiasm was evident at ‘ ths inaugural meeting Tor the 1838 session or the MorriiMvUle Orphans’ Club. Mr F. H. Stretton. the newly-elected president, presided. A welcome was accorded a large party or Te Aroha Orphans. A feature of the evening was the first appearance of a new orchestra under the baton of Mr E. Patterson, a new member of tbe club, who was formerly leader of the Tauranga Orphans’ orchestra. The instrumentalists included .Messrs A. Oxford (piano), R. Keatinge (flute), J. Wedde (’celo)„, T. Large (bass), J. Cottingham (tenor horn;, a. Blanchett (euphonium), A. Byrnes (comet), L. Buchan (cornet). Vocal solos were given by Messrs W. G. Dunbar and P. Mclnally; instrumental Items by Messrs Davis and L. Phillips (Te Aroha), and elocutionary items by Messrs Vincent and Bradley (Te Aroha). Messrs G. Lee and A. Gifford* were the accompanists. *
