MORE STATE HOUSES
FURTHER CONTRACTS ANNOUNCED PURCHASES OF LAND (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON. Saturday The Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Housing, Mr J. A. Lee, announced to-day that further housing contracts had been approved by Cabinet as follows : Six at Point Chevalier and 10 singlehouse and two two-house units at Westmere. Auckland; four concrete units at Kaiapoi; seven houses at Paeroa; eight single-house and one two-house unit at Thames; 13 singlehouse and one two-house units at Palmerston North; li single-house and one two-house units at Pahiatua; a special two-house unit at Johnsonville; 49 at Khandallah, seven singlcand four two-house units at Strathmore Park, Wellington; seven singleand one two-house units at the same place; six houses at Lyttelton. Cabinet has approved the purchase of land at Devonport for three houses, at Lower Hutt for 29, at Opunake for six, at Rlccarton for 13, and at Wakarl, Dunedin for two.
