Gay Gardens

rain pictures After the rain, when the sun sinks to rest When birdies are tucked so snug in their nest, Down long lighted streets so cheery and gay I love to watch all the fairy folk play. There’re diamonds that sparkle with myriad hues And the loveliest ever fairy views. There’s an elfln house and a goblin fair And a tiny princess with golden hair. A palace and garden with flowers sweet And all of these pictures lie at my feet For they shine in the streets 'neath a soft light And always they bring to me great delight These fairy pictures that 1 love to find In pools of water the rain left, behind.
