May 12 At the wool sales 9903 bales were offered, including 0781 New Zealand bales, and 7830 bales were sold. There was a good selection of crossbreds, which, together with the best Australian merinos, sold actively to ibe home trade and the Continent. Greasy merinos are now from par to 3 per cent dearer, and withdrawals arc chiefly among slipes owing to the firm limits.

New Zealand greasy crossbred, Motukawa. 9d to lOd; halfbred, Ngaio Downs, lOd to Is; scoured merino pieces, H and Co/T, 17id to 18id.
