ATTACK ON STEAMER
DELIBERATELY BOMBED STRONG PROTEST LODGED (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received May 12, 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, May 11 Mr R. A. Butler. Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs, replying to a question in the House of Commons, said the Government had been forced to the conclusion that ihe bombing of the steamer Stanhope at Valencia on May 7 was deliberate. It, had strongly protested to the Burgos authorities and requested that precautions be taken to ensure that there be no recurrence.
