Copyright) ADELAIDE, May 11 A leading Victorian jockey, Ray Wilson, and a prominent South Australian rider. Stan Kite, were killed in a racing smash at Morphetville races to-day. The accident occurred in the Accession Handicap. Kite's horse fell and brought down four others. Wilson's head was crushed and he died Instantly, and Kite died in the casualty room. • Another jockey, Higson, was seriously injured. REMARKABLE RACE FOURTH JOCKEY INJURED RACEHORSE DROPS DEAD (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received Mav 12. 1*2.30 p.m.) ADELAIDE, May 12 In the smash-up at the Morphetville races yesterday a fourth Jockey, K. Bromley, was also seriously injured. The race, was remarkable in many ways. Sio Valley dislodged his rider before the start and took no part in the race. Acceptance, ridden by R. Medhurst, who was not, involved in the smash, dropped dead in front of the grandstand. Oliver Beis, the winner of the race, had to withstand a protest for interference. At. the request, of the owner of Acceptance. the stewards ordered a wad to be taken by a veterinary surgeon, which will be analysed.
