Prime vealers again aroused keo n competition. There was a sharp rise in the \alue of runners, the top price. £7 13s, being an advance of £1 13s on the best quotation for last week. Porkers were again the feature of the ptg section. A further increase of 10s brought the top price to £4 -is a head. Baconers remained Arm. The average per lb for baconers was 6Jd, and to porkers 6sd to 6sd. Individual Consignments
The top price for ox beef was paid for a line from Mr B. Reed, of Te Xaowhata, which brought £ls 2s 6d, an advance of more than £1 on recent highest values. An entry from New ftsal&nd Products, Putaruru. brought ftrom £l2 5s to £l3 2s 6d. One steer entered by a Walhi vendor brought 111 17s 6d. Cows from the Tapuwae Estate made to £l2, and entries from Mr G. Reed, of Waerenga, and Otupae. Limited, of Putaruru, sold to £ll 10s. The beat price obtained for cows sold by Mr H. Windsor, of Tamahere, was £ll, and a line from Mr J. Pohlen, of Matamata, brought to £lO 17s Gd. A line from Mr J. A. Hill, of Ohinewat, brought from £7 to £9 10s. Entries from Mr J. Reardon, of Putaruru, made to £9 7s 6d, while Stonex Brothers, of (Thinewai, sold offerings to £9. Dalgety and Company, Ltd. Messrs Dalgety and Company report that at their weekly Westfield stock sale to-day they offered 164 head of beef, comprising 34 steers and 130 cows and heifers, against 127 head last week. The quality was first-class and selling under a ready demand, a good sale resulted, rates being firm to higher. Quotations: Extra choice ox sold to 39s per 100 lb; choice and prime, 36s to 38s; secondary' and plain, 32s to 355; prime young cow and heifer beef, 32s to 365; ordinary cow beef, 23s to 31s. YARDING AT TE PUKE The Farmers Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, reports having held their usual fortnightly stock sale' at Te Puke on Tuesday. A good yarding of cattle comprised mostly fat and fair conditioned cows. Several outside buyers were operating and a total clearance was effected at keen prices. A good seasonal ontrv of pigs came forward, mostly light and unfinished, only a few pens of good baconers being yarded and competition in this section was brisk.
