A STRIKE
BREAD DELIVERY HELD UP ALLEGED VICTIMISATION APPEAL TO THE MINISTER (By Telegraph.—Press Association) AUCKLAND, Wednesday Alleging that one of their number had been victimised by dismissal, the drivers employed by a bakery firm at Mount Eden struck this morning. Although the full quantity of bread was baked last night no delivery was made this morning and men are picketing the factory to prevent delivery in the rase of vehicles being supplied bv other firms. \ conference between thp principal of Hip firm concerned with Hip secretary of the Employers’ Association, the secretary of the Auckland Drivers’ Union, and represenlativcs of the men was abortive. Tlip Minister of Labour was communicated with by telephone to Wellington. and the Hon. 11. T. Armstrong promised to look into the matter.
