WEDDINGS

MORRIS—BHAW The wedding took place on Saturday at St. Marys Church, New Plymouth, of Gwyneth Marjorie, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs T. W. Morris, “Drumsheilling,” Tataraimaka, and James Thomas, eldest son of Mr and Mrs T. J. Shaw, Hamilton. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. E. L. B. Gribble, Okato, and Mr Neville Renaud was organist. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of rich ivory quilted brocade- It was of simple but classic design, cut on slim-fitting lines with a full-length court train. Long bell sleeves fell to the wrist and a single gold and pearl pendant was worn at the neckline. The bridal veil, worn over the face, was held with a coronet of orange blossom and fell with a pretty niched effect at the border. She carried a bouquet of cream chrysanthemums and rosebuds. Miss Doreen Morris, sister of the bride, and Miss Matty Shaw, Wellington, were the bridesmaids. They wore frocks of pale lavender chiffon applique over taffeta, featuring the new fan-shaped train. Violet and silver halos were worn in the hair, and their shower bouquets were of violets, daphne and luculia. Mr R. A. Shaw, Hamilton, was best man, and Mr A. G. Shaw, Hamilton, groomsman. A reception was held at the Devon Rooms, where the decorations were in lavender tonings. The bride’s mother wore a black French model frock with patent leather trimmings and a shoulder spray of white begonias. Her hat was of black velour with black and white ostrich-feather trimming. The bridegroom's mother wore a light brown woollen suit with dark brown accessories and a shoulder spray in autumn tonings. Miss Kathleen Shaw, sister of the bridegroom, wore moon green with rust trimmings. After the reception, the guests were received by Mr and Mrs Morris at their home, “Drumsheilling,” Tataraimaka. ROWE—MASON A pretty wedding was solemnised in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Glaudelands, on April 2, when Daphne Jean, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs R. Mason, of Claudelands, was married to Darcy Wynne, younger son of Mr and Mrs 11. S. Rowe, of Claudelands. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. 11. G. Gilbert, and Mr Apthorp presided at the organ. The church had been beautifully decoraled with bowls of red and while chrysanIhemiMns. dahlias and asparagus fern. The bride, who entered Hie church with her father, wore a gown of ivory *atin cut on princess lines with high cowl neckline and finished at the hack with tiny satin buttons to the waist. The skirt fell gracefully to form a long three-petalled train. Her beautiful veil of embroidered tulle fell to form a long second train, and was held in place with a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a sheaf of white cactus dahlias, chrysanthemums and maidenhair and asparagus ferns. Attending the bride were her two sister*. Miss Doris Mason and Miss Iris Mason, who were dressed alike in frocks of white spot taffeta with full puff sleeves, Peter Pan collars and full gored skirls finished with narrow red satin ribbon. They wore headdresses of red, white and silver, and carried sheaves of red zinnias, cactus dahlias and asparagus and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom was attended by Mr P. Rowe, brother of the groom, as best man. and Mr P. Haines as groomsman- The usher at the church was Mr A. Rowe. On leaving the church Miss Ester McGrail presented the bride with an ivory satin horseshoe. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Centreway Rooms, where Mrs Mason received the guests wearing a smart tunic frock of brown satin-hacked crepe, with pink satin faggntted blouse and accessories to match. She carried a posy of pink tinted cactus dahlias and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom's mother wore a smart navy and cream frock, with accessories to match, and she carried a posy of autumn-tinted dahlias and maidenhair fern. The bride travelled in a smartlycut nigger brown tailored costume with maize georgette peasant blouse,

and felt hat with veil. She wore accessories to tone and a brown fur stole, the gift of the bridegroom. The guests included: —The Rev. and Mrs H. G. Gilbert, Mr and Mrs R. Mason, Mr and Mrs H. S.
