Copyright LONDON, May 11 Dressed only in a pair of white trunks and gymnasium shoes, Geoffrey Guy, a 22-year-old clerk, led members of a Dorchester church congregation in physical exercises last Sunday. Mr Guy stood at the foot of the pulpit in tiie Poole High Street Methodist Church to demonstrate for Mr A. A. Campbell, physical training organiser lo the Dorset County Council, who was addressing members of the Post-war Brotherhood on health and fitness. He did exercises which would prevent round shoulders, “middle-aged spread’’ and tightness of the thigh muscles. When Mr Guy was doing arn swinging, male members of the congregation were invited to join in. Six of them stood up and followed his actions. As Mr Guy was undressing in an ante-room he showed a reporter his powerful muscles, and said: “That is brought about not by trying to do Gmen stuff, but by simple exercises which bring about suppleness. I have | only been doing this since the begin- j ning of the winter.” At one period during Mr Guy’s de- I nionstration he lay flat on the floor, and j (he congregation had to stand up to I watch him.
