SOUTH AUCKLAND BRANCH CHANGES IN MARKETING 'During the year notable changes have been made in the marketing of our product, the Internal Marketing Department having acquired our cooperative company, New Zealand Honey, Ltd.,” stated the report of the South Auckland branch of the National Beekeepers’ Association of New Zealand, presented at the annual meeting yesterday. The Department, continued the report, was also the supervisor of th* association’s export market, and the members looked forward to this having a stabilising effect. Continuing, the report stated that, owing to the long, warm summer, most members had bad good crops, while it was believed that disease was being kept in check. A substantial credit balance was shown in the statement of accounts. Mr T. H. Pearson presided. Concern was expressed by members at the suggestion that the Government might impose ’ restrictions on heavyduty trucks used by honey-producers, and" the following motion was passed as a remit to the national conference: ‘ That the Minister of Transport dq asked to give an assurance that honeyproducers shall be granted the same liberties and freedom in the transport of their goods and produce, in their own trucks, as other farmers.”
