Mean Temperature, 55.5 deg. The barometer reads 30.00 and has a rising tendency. Fair weather is Indicated today and to-morrow, with lower temperatures and westerly winds prevailing. The Rainfall Rainfall for 2* hours ended 9 o'clock this morning, .Ouin. Rainfall for previous 24 hours, .001 a. Rainfall for Mav to date, *.3 4 in. Average rainfall for May, 4.63in. Rainfall for year to date, 19.13in. Average yearly rainfall, 46.32in. SPECIAL FORECAST (By Govt. Meteorologist). The special forecast by tho Government Meteorologist covering the Waikato- - Valiev la »a folfaWß: Forecast: Llgtot to moderate southerly winds prevailing. A few isolated showers. but weather mainly fine and coM with some frosts Inland to-night. Seas slight to moderate. General Inference: A shallow depression crossed the South Island last night, and Its northern extension is now moving ofT the North Island. An antl-cj clone is centred over the south-west Tasman Sea and approaching the Dominion.
