MILITARY BALL

MOUNTED RIFLES REGIMENT FUNCTION AT NGARUAWAHIA A very enjoyable and successful ball was held in the Town Hall, Ngaruawahia, recently, by the Mounted Rifles Regiment who are at present in camp at Hopu Hopu. The hall presented a gay and attractive scene with flags, streamers and greenery, the uniforms of the men adding a further note of colour. At 8.30 the grand march, led by Major H. Carruth and Miss Nancy O’Connor, followed by LieutenantColonel and Mrs T. Paterson, was held, after which a waltz, the muslo for which was supplied by the Auckland East Coast Mounted Rifles Band, was enjoyed. The music for the remainder of the evening was supplied by the Snappy Dance Band from Hamilton. The supper-room was arranged with streamers of red. white and blue with flags suspended at intervals from the ceiling. The M.’sC. were Captain T. Wallace, Captain Pulham and Lieutenant Wright.
