CROQUET CLOSING
PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES FUNCTION AT WHITIORA A x'ery successful season xx-as brought to a close on the Whitlora croquet lawns recently, when there was a large attendance of members. The winners of the competitions were:—Progressive A, Mrs Cooper; B, Mrs Perrett. The treasure-hunt was won by Mrs Kibblewhite. A delicious afternoon tea provided by the president, Mrs Irvine, xvas served in the pavilion, the tables being attractively decorated with bowls of chrysanthemums. The season's trophies xvere presented as follows: A champion and Fow Cup, Mrs Kibblewhite; runnerup, Mrs Morgan; B champion and Allan Bell Cup, Mrs Perrett; C champion and Middleton gold button, Mrs Stimson; A handicap singles and Cllffe Memorial Cup, Mrs Morgan; B handicap, Mrs Perrett; C. handicap, Mrs Hanlon; A doubles, Mesdames Middleton and Gee; A and B doubles, Mesdames Bonthron and Perrett; A and G doubles, Mesdames Morgan and Smith; A break, Mrs Morgan; B break, Mrs Perrett. Trophies donated by Mr M. Gibbons xvere won by Mrs Kibblewhite and Mrs Perrett. Among those present xxere :—Mesdames Irvine, Drube, Nesbit, Gall, Hodgkinson, Gee, Perrett, Ibbotson, Nealie, Rockell, Morgan, Smith, Shanahan, Russell, Cummin, Stimson, Trevena, Hanlon, Comer, Cooper, Fow, Bonthron, Amesbury, Lock, Tyler, Street, Andrews, Woods, Hawken, Aicken, Scott.
ENJOYABLE BRIDGE AFTERNOON The Frankton Croquet Club closed its greens recently with a bridge afternoon. The winners xvere Mrs E. Harris and Mrs B. Craighead. During afternoon tea the president, Mrs Wigzell, presented the trophies won during the season as follows: Mrs A. Wigzell (A championship), Mrs E. Harris (intermediate championship), Mrs Shepherd (runner-up), Mrs L. Clapp (B champion), Mrs Hallberg (runner-up), Mrs B. Craighead (C championship), Mrs G. Morrison (Edwards Cup), Mrs Hunter (runner-up), Mesdames Wigzell and Craighead (A and C. doubles), Mesdames Morrison and Clapp (A and B doubles), Mesdames McGonnell and Shepherd (run-ners-up), Mrs Larney and Mr McIntyre (A doubles)Mrs Craighead won the prize for the most advanced C player during the season.
