HAMILTON BRANCH MEETS DOMINION COUNCIL RESOLUTION The monthly meeting of the Hamilton branch of the Plunket Society was held in the rooms on Friday, Mrs N. E. Blomfleld presiding. Before starting the business of the meeting, the president read the following resolution of the Dominion council at its meeting in Wellington on March 30 : “At this, the first meeting of the council of the Royal New Zealand Society for the Health of Women and Children held since the death of our beloved founder, Sir Truby King, we place on record our devotion to the fundamental ideals of the movement as faid down by him. During his long association with the society extending over 31 years, the late Sir Truby King gave to us his active guidance, and much research was carried out with the object of perfecting the Plunket system of feeding. It will he the object of the sociely to continue this research so that It can at all times be kept abreast of modern developments in this country and abroad. The society's teaching is not static, hut will continue to develop on the same sound, broad lines which have marked its history to date. As a council we realise our responsibility to the mothers and babies of New Zealand, and it shall be our constant endeavour to see that the trust imposed upon us is not misplaced." Frankton District.—New cases, 10; breast-fed, 9; artificially fed, 1; visits to office, adults 164, babies 160, older children 35, total 359; visits to homes. 43.
Te Mata. —Adults to office, 4; bab' ies, 4; older children, 1.
Raglan.—New cases, 1; breast-fed, 1; adults to office, G; babies, 7. As the executive of the Dominion council is considering compiling the life and work of the late Sir Truby King, and the history of the Plunket Society, all branches who have among their records, photographs or other information bearing on the above are asked to forward all available material to the general office, Princes Street, Dunedin.
A letter was received from the president of the Dunedin branch with reference to the resignation of Dr. Tweed, medical adviser to the society. For 18 years Dr. Tweed has given invaluable service to the society, and his resignation will be received with great regret. The society will be fortunate, however, in still having Dr. Tweed’s support as a voluntary worker and member of the societv.
Final arrangements were made for holding the Plunket stall at the forthcoming Winter Show to be held in Hamilton from June 1 to June 8.
